Zarnower was a major artist in the Polish Avant-Garde, and--with Mieczyslaw Szczuka--pioneered the use of photomontage in Polish graphic design and illustration. An evocative depiction of the defense of Warsaw against the Nazis in 1939, with eight photographic illustrations, including 3 full-page photomontages within the book and two additional photomontages on the back and front wrapper. Text in Polish. This copy is in very good condition.
